Mango Debuts Its New Homeware line
This season, Spanish retail brand, Mango, has joined a number of high street labels and launched a homewares collection, the first of its kind for the brand.
Mango's foray into the home arena will prioritise sustainability and longevity, with the collection focussing on textiles, all of which will be made with sustainable materials such as bed linen, duvet covers, cushions, blankets, towels and bathrobes.
80% of the products will be sourced locally, amplifying the company's commitment to eco-friendly practices. Items for the bathroom and kitchen will be added for autumn/winter 2021.
The aesthetic will be imbued with a clean and refined Mediterranean style, combining neutral colours to create items that don't lose their appeal a season on. Mango CEO Tom Ruiz says that the launch was the result of demand from shoppers, who want an extension of the label's aesthetic.
"Customers have been asking for Mango home products for a while," he said. "The comfort and style they look for when coming to Mango to dress their wardrobe they also want within their homes. Due to this being such a big department to add to our business it has taken a lot of planning and development, but we are so excited to announce it is finally here."
The pandemic has reinvigorated our interest in interiors, as various lockdowns have meant we are spending more time at home than ever before. As a result, a number of luxury fashion labels have recently entered the homeware market, including Erdem, Sleeper and Jacquemus.
Mango’s debut offering will also include candles, incense sticks and loungewear to either sleep or relax in and kitchen and dining room products will follow in the autumn/winter 2021 collection.
The bed linen in terracotta will bring an earthy warmth to any bedroom, while the gingham cushions are feminine without being saccharine. There is a relaxed, effortless appeal that runs throughout, also seen in its laidback linen sleepwear.
The collection is now on sale exclusively at Mango.com
