Watch The Duchess of Sussex Star In A Campaign For Female Empowerment

In 2015, the then Meghan Markle was featured in a United Nations campaign video- which aimed to promote female leadership- showing the Duchess preparing a speech before appearing in front of a crowd. The campaign mirrors that speech with the strapline, "We see potential leaders everywhere." The film was shared by a fan site of the royal couple via Instagram.

The royal became UN Women's Advocate for Women’s Political Participation and Leadership in 2015 and the same year delivered a speech on the importance of gender equality on International Women’s Day for UN Women in New York.

Quoting Meghan, the Duchess said “I hear a lot of people speaking about girls' empowerment and women's empowerment- you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices,” she said. “I fundamentally disagree with that because women don't need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen. Right now with so many campaigns like MeToo and TimesUp there's no better time to continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people supporting them.”

We second that.
