Coppa Club, Putney - London Restaurant Reviews

The latest branch of Coppa Club opened in Putney late last year – this is what to expect

Described as a ‘distinct café culture experience in Southwest London’ by the Club, the café, bar, restaurant, lounge, terrace and private dining space is Coppa Club’s second London opening - the first, Coppa Club Tower Bridge, opened to much fanfare with Coppa’s signature igloos snaking along the riverside.

Located in a swanky creative quarter just to the left of Putney Bridge, the new location is grand without being grandiose: situated on the riverfront, Coppa Club Putney’s interiors are relaxed, chic, and fit for multiple purposes, ensuring everyone’s welcome.

There is a space for private, less formal meetings, a stylish bar for after work drinks, a cosy fireside alcove to catch up with friends and an open plan dining space for gatherings and celebrations.

Taking inspiration from the area’s rich boating heritage, Coppa Club Putney’s interior design features vibrant hues of blue and green, rustic rattan light fixtures and potted plants dotted across the club.

The view from the expansive bay windows allows for a sweeping view of the river, strongly rivalling that of other competitors along the bank.

Dining at the club is a tantalising experience with delicate starters like truffle arancini balls to pick on, zucchini fritti to enjoy and a selection of big juicy olives to sample. Brunch is also available as well as an all-day dining menu with an extensive spring botanical cocktail menu to browse and sample along the river in the sun.

The Coppa Burger is the most popular order of the day and the club’s most loved dish but the truffle mafaldine and grilled lemon sole are lesser known treasures on the menu.

The cocktail offering is extensive and features all of the classics (think Pornstar Martinis and Negronis) but Coppa Club’s mixologists have curated a spring Botanical menu on which they shake and stir up signature blends of liquid.

Among the selection of curated drinks, you’ll find the much-hyped-about Cherry Blossom with Beefeater 24 gin, Fever-Tree Rhubarb & Raspberry Tonic, cherry syrup, orange zest - a deliciously fresh thirst-quencher.

Coppa Club prides itself on creating an inclusive space for every type of meeting, be it with friends, family or work. The main bar, lounge areas and private Igloos are pet friendly with guide dogs allowed throughout Coppa Club.

The club first opened its doors back in 2015 in the Berkshire countryside village of Sonning-on-Thames; now with eight openings across the country, Coppa Club Putney is the ninth thriving local hang-out and community space.

Expect exciting collaborations too: renowned and sustainable cult coffee brand, GRIND, will be supplying the coffee, the neighbourhood retreat will host speaker events and supper clubs on a regular basis to bring locals interesting and topical discussions straight to their doorstep.

Echoing the Club’s ethos, the home-from-home feel of the brand new location is another notch on Coppa Club’s proverbial belt and we can’t wait to see what more they have in store for local Londoners.
